Software upgrade

Ok, so I'm about to do my software upgrade. I just got my license earlier this year, so I know its free. My question, should I upgrade from basic plus to advanced (is that the next level?), or wait till next season at the hopeful mega sale? I have 2 of the pc controllers now, and am hoping to get two maybe three more for next season. Also, would my license year be from date of original purchase, or from date of upgrade to s3?

The next level up from Basic Plus is Standard. Advanced the next up from Standard. For a comparison of features, please see here.

THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL LOR RESPONSE: I could be wrong, but I think that the software hasn't been discounted during any past sales. Other people would probably know better than me.

Again, that was not an official LOR response. I could be wrong about it, and even if I'm right about it, I can't promise you that it will remain that way in the future.

Any time that you upgrade or renew a license, your license year is effectively reset to start at the current date.

I just upgraded to advanced and my licence is still showing basic+. Not sure if there is some step I missed. It never asked me for my previous license.

In the Sequence Editor, click on the help link at the top. Then click "Upgrade Light-O-Rama. It will tell you what you are currently licensed for. Then click "OK" and it will ask you to register with your license number. After you register, it will work like a charm!

I think they give a discount with hardware purchase, and I think rigbt now to upgrade to standard since I just bought my software, I can upgrade for $30. I guess I should wait until I see how many controllers I get next year. Thanks for the info, Bob.

Remember, the license version isnt -just- about how many controllers you'll want to use (even in the future), it's also about the options enabled in higher license versions.. ie: Advanced level gives you Beat Wizard, which makes figuring out timings a LOT easier.. just food for thought..
