ShaggySS
What happened to the days of customer service. I recently ordered a pair of in ceiling speakers and the company sent me in-wall speakers. They wanted me to pay $26 to ship the incorrect pair back and once received if they had the ones I ordered still in stock with would ship those otherwise they would refund my money. If you weren’t aware I am new to LOR. I have been reading up and posting occasionally for the past year but up until this past Monday I did not own any LOR equipment. Today according to my wife I have 1 controller….she doesn’t know I bought two yet. I joined LOR mainly because of Halloween so I have rushing to put together a display.I recently ordered a spool of rope light for my pumpkin faces and after 10 days it still had not shipped even though I had been exchanging daily emails with my sales rep at that company. Who said they have it in stock and it will ship today. Finally I called and was told they were all out sorry have a nice day. I was pissed to say the least now I had to order the 1in stuff and pay a lot to get it here quickly. Now I am not taking the time write this to bash on any one company I don’t believe in complaining about a poor customer service experience since everyone does it. What I do like to talk about are the companies who still understand what customer service is.I ordered some C7 stringer from CDI and they showed up yesterday. I went to screw in my C7 lights and we’ll they didn’t screw it. Turns out they send C9 instead. I am new so I really went down to the store to buy a couple C9 bulbs to verify. I emailed the company yesterday evening and I had an email waiting for me when I woke up. CDI did not make me jump through hoops to prove it was wrong as I did with the speakers. CDI is overnighting me the stringers today so my display can be up for the weekend. I understand mistakes happen but it’s how you handle it. Props to CDI for still understanding customer service. jimswinder
Paul has always done goof for me too...My Own Short Customer Service Story...Recently bought some webbing to attach my CCR's to. Ordered 225' so I could have 12 pieces of webbing each about 18'9" long. Unbeknown to me, sometimes they "Splice" the webbing together with a piece of cloth so they can have a continuous roll (apparently on all their website pages it says to TELL them if you need no splices, EXCEPT the page I went to). So my roll comes with TWO splices, hence I am short one full length of webbing for a CCR.Emailed them, they apologized for the one page not stating anything about the splices and would send me out another piece of webbing 19' long.Got it a few days later and immediately started zip tying my CCR to it..and when I get near the end, I see that it is about three feet short...they sent me a piece 16 Feet Long!! (The Winder Curse!!)Emailed them again...again got apologizes and he would be speaking to their shipping department and would send out another piece. I said mistakes happen...16...19... easily switched in your head.Few days later got the replacement webbing...I think it is about 25 feet long!! LOLWould definitely order from them again... Great Customer Service goes a long way.
David Rise
Yup. I have nothing but good things to say about CDI, Christmas lights Etc, and of course LOR.These 3 companies are awesome and have excellent customer service. They are small enough to know that the customers are why they are in business to begin with.I would report that company to the BBB. No way should you have to pay for their screw up. If nothing else, call back and speak to a supervisor. You probably spoke to a level 1 flunky.
Paul Roberson
Never mind. They are not worth it. I will agree, that I have never had great customer service like I get from LOR.LOR company and products are awesome!!
Denny
I would like to ad that Seasonal Entertainment (http://seasonalentertainmentllc.com/) has customer service right up there with LOR. I bought a Rainbow Brain kit last year but didn't finish assembling it until this year. I was having problems and Greg told me to send it back and they would look at it. To make a long story short, even though they have a one year replacement warranty on their products and this kit was purchased over a year ago, Greg sent me a replacement kit at no cost - I should have paid 50%. I have bought floods, blizzard, rainbow brains, on multiple occasions and he has always answered any questions quickly, usually in less than 24 hours. Can't go wrong with him. Guest guest
It seems customer service in this hobby is either stellar...or severely lacking..doesn't seem to be any in between. In that stellar category..I'd echo what is said here...CLS, CDI, LOR, and Seasonal Entertainment. I've also had good service from Christmas Depot, used them a couple times last year.Add to that list...3G Lighting Creations and its owner, Michael. I needed arch plates, was traveling and in the middle of some work craziness, could not get to my laptop to send him a paypal, and he shipped anyway...I had never ordered from him in the past, we had never met..so he had absolutely no way to know if I was legit, or not. I didn't ask him to do it, he just did it.I'll keep this from turning to a "bash the bad guys" thread, but I think we all have good knowledge of who would be on the Christmas Lighting "Hall of Shame" list. Those lsted in this thread are definitely the gold standard, and have earned their reputation. Arnoldc
Don- I live right down the street from Michael, he is a really great guy! Lots of cool stuff! He helped me out with my wreath, and I already have a few more items on the wish list!
