jstorms
My next door neighbor is at ground zero for my Christmas lights and last year we got a *TON* of traffic. One crazy night I bumped into him on the sidewalk and he was so cool about the lights. He gave me a hard time that I didn't have enough lights on the roof. From that point on it was love.So I have a next door neighbor that likes the lights and today I saw a FOR SALE sign go up in his front yard. Now I have to break in a new neighbor. If I was a lottery winner I would just buy his house myself
Kevin Holcomb
Yeah, then you could put up more lights.
paulanator
Hopefully the new potential buyers come by during Christmas and see the light show, that way they know what they are getting into!
CKSedg
Hey, a few years ago I had the exact OPPOSITE happen. I had a neighbor (my wife's uncle and aunt) who absolutely hated my lights, and she told me often. I would joke with her that someday she may find that the flashy blinky lights had migrated over to her house.Well, they moved (maybe it was my lights?), and now my neighbors LOVE the lights and tell me all the time. Last year he even came over and helped me set them up a little. Another neighbor across the street used to sit in her living room window and watch for hours. Others just put up with them. It takes all kinds!
ShaggySS
I think its ok for your neighbors to be upset if you move into a new neighborhood and put up a crazy amount of lights. If you were there before your neighbor I say fair game.
mcompanik
I wonder if they have to include it in the disclosure. It could read something like "the guy next door is a Christmas light nut".

edvas69
I know how you feel having to break in several new neighbour. I have new neighbours on both sides and across the road plus 3 more down the street, most have already been warned by freinds so i think most know what is coming. And no it wasnt me that drove them away
Arnoldc
I plan on selling my house within 2 years... Now, I am hoping I can find a house where there are very few neighbors across from the house, but.. if I dont.. I would have to find a way to break them in myself... jstorms
Yeah, I'm going to fight to keep my spot. This is ideal location for Christmas lights. Street wide enough for parked traffic on both sides while allowing for two-way traffic. Plus there is a sound wall across the street instead of across the street neighbors.
