jjdurrant
Hey guys.. I am sticking with 16ch again this year.. was hoping to jump to 32 with a megatree this year but no time right now. I am looking for ways to switch-upand improve my display from last year. Here is what I am thinking... open to all feedback and suggestions!1. Ditch the LED lawn lights. They are just no longer working with my display.. and since they are LED they get covered up quickly anyway given all the MN snow. Sell or use them some other way?2. Incorporate more incand floods. I really like the RGB color wash you see on the side of my house in the second vid. Are these generally ok to dim andor switch on and off frequently? And do you think adding them to the channel that runs the multis along my roof line behind the icicles would look ok without too much of a wash?3. Ditch the whites around the garage doors. Just doesn't look right too me.Thanks!
CUTTHEMUSIC
I think your sequencing is great. The only change I would make is line your windows with lights. The right of the house has lights on the door and garage doors and the left of your house (windows) doesnt have any. Just my two cents. Looks great as is. jstorms
Hey, I recognize your show. I watched your videos a bunch of times when I was looking for inspiration before doing my first show last year. I really like the sequencing you did for your trees. It's a little hard to make suggestions since I'm not sure how your house is oriented to the street. But the one thing I might do is have a string of lights coming down the left corner. Balance it out with the porch lights on the right. Frame your awesome trees.Like the videos. Now I'm subscribed. Looking forward to what you come up with.

As for the floods, I don't know if I'd put them on the same channel as the multis. My buddy has floods (rgb led), and they give a really nice effect, but he does more of the fading with them, and its pretty cool. crackchecker
We are our own worst enemy! I haven't met a decorator yet that really liked their own display.
jjdurrant
Soo funny.. I like the idea of lights around the windows though.. only the wife complains she has a tough time opening windows with the lights there.. plus I would need some blackouts. I have darker curtains, but they are not blackouts.
crackchecker
All last year I kept saying to myself, "I hate that, I don't like that part of the sequence, I need to change that, I hope no one notices that". All the while the crowd was oohing and ahhing and saying how great it was....I'm nerve racked already about this year and haven't even put up one light yet. I have had about 50 people already approach me and ask when the lights are going to be turned on... I think their more excited than I am.... worry, worry, worry...I forgot who either Here or on PC made mention; the displays make fond memories for those who visit them. Some displays even become a tradition for families to visit.Make small tweeks to the display to make you happy. Then you just gota sit back after it starts running and find your happy place I guess...
Dave Boros
My problem is I run out of channels (& cash) to quickly. Thing thats nice, though, when you're watching it and criticizing yourself, you can tweak it and resave it for the next night.
