jstorms
This year I've added a few controllers and would like to put 2 out in the yard. If I can do this it will mean shorter extension cord runs (thus less flicker for the LEDs) and will save $$$ on extension cords.I'd like to put the controllers for zones 1 & 2 next to the big trees where I can attach a security cable. However, I'm a little concerned about my controllers (CTB16-PC). I'm worried about them getting wet, tripping breakers, and overall shortening their lifespans.Has anyone else put controllers out in the elements? How did you do it? Got pictures? JBullard
I put my CTB16-PC controllers out in the yard all the time.Just be sure the electical connections are not laying directly on the ground (where they may in pooling or standing water) and everything will be fine. Denny
Mine have been in the yard for the past four or five years - however long I have been involved in this madness . I built plywood boxes and mounted my boards in the boxes, no problems at all. (None of my boards are in the cases LOR and others sell.) Boxes are painted dark brown and screwed to small fence posts that I pound in around the yard.
