1 CCR Acting Funky

I have two CCR's with the same sequences programmed to each. The second one in the series, however, is acting funky while playing. The colors are supposed to be all orange and red, but I'm getting a lot of green in there and sometimes the pixels stay on when they shouldn't.

I have already tried resetting the CCR. Its test pattern played fine.

Any thoughts?

The only thing I can think of (short of a defect, which doesn't seem the case if the test was fine) is simply that I have too much going on. I wouldn't have expected that, since I have just the two CCR's and about 60 other channels. But I can't think of anything else.

Do you think it might help if I were to delete the second CCR from my sequence and instead assign the same unit ID to both ribbons?

Also swap the 2 ribbons and see if the errors move also.

Leave the controllers as is only swap the ribbons

I checked the data cable. No problem. Also, the two 16-channel controllers after it in the series work without issue, so I didn't expect to find anything wrong there.

Switching the ribbons between the controllers moved the problem to the other ribbon. Good idea, Dennis!

I went into the hardware utility to make sure that both ribbons were configured the same. They were. But something interesting happened: The problem unit first showed up as "Unknown Device". Refreshing again showed it correctly as CCR with ID 7. At that point I remembered the same thing happening the day before when I was doing my final set up.

I have tried flashing the firmware, even though it was already at the most current version. The problem was not resolved.

Does anyone have suggestions at this point? Or does it sound like this particular controller is bad?

At this point I have also tried running just the one ribbon with everything else disconnected from the network. The exact problem still happens.

I have also carefully gone back through the channel configuration to ensure that no channels are misnumbered.

Time to call LOR support.
