huskernut
So, from you experienced arch builders.I want an arch 8 segments, each segment will have 2X 100 incan minis ( red and white )Using the sleeve method what is the best tubing diameter for the internal and the sleeves and do you see any issue with a 10 foot arch? Can I get that many lights on a 10 foot arch? Thanks for your input

huskernut
OK, great input, and keep it coming, so what diameter of plastic are people using for segmented arches?
jimswinder
I am just redoing my arches tonight...changing from just white to red/white.The old ones were 9 segment, 100ct each segment and each segment was about 18" for a total length of 13'-6 on 3/4" pipe.Tried to do the new two color ones also using 3/4" PVC but the segments were coming in about 23" long making the arch about 17'-3"...way to long to fit in the area I needed it to fit in,So I am trying 1" PVC and it is working much better...am able to get the segments down to about 17-1/2" for a total length of about 13'... TJ Hvasta
I am -still- shaking my head and wondering how you guys are getting 16"-17" sleeves!! I use 23' long, 100ct string with abt 4" spacing and get eight sleeves just over 11" with fairly tight spacing on 1 1/4" schedule40 pipe. They slide over a eight foot, 1/2" pipe.
