David Barnett
The Description should read:"Hey Folks, would like some idea input...can I make this easier"Hey Everyone. workin on my Haloween stuff. This year on some songs/seq. I'm adding some lightning and thunder.I understand on the audio part adding it to my music file.I also understand from a seq. point, how to add my lightning etc.My questions is: Is there an eaiser way.1. OK, I have the Munsters and Addams Family. I plan to add some lightning at the beginnng of the Munsters; that plays and then goes right into addams.2. I thought of 2 ways to do this.1. I cut copy/Paste Munsters after the lightning stuff(10sec); then copy paste the addams in that new seq. at the appropriate time..seems like that will work OK.2. the other is a TSo song merged with the Halloween theme. However, I wanted to insert the lightning between the 2 songs. The only way I can think of to do this: Cut Copy the Halloween theme into sorta of like a holding tank if you will. Add my lightning after the TSo, the paste the Halloween song afterwards. Some work/editing...is there an easier way.I thought about creating a track just for the lightning stuff; I have my lightning channels laid out by yard location. Is there a way to combine just my lightning channels into 1 track or something. Then I can jsut copy paste the 8 channels of events in those lightning channels.I know crazy stuff can happen when you move/copy channels to another track....just trying to find an easier way to do this.Any suggestions appreciated.Best,DavidEdited for a stupid sounding description I can't change
Santas Helper
I would create a seperate small lms sequence of lightning with sound and just add it to the show before or after the sequences you are using. I think that would be easiest.Example: Lightning sequence, then Munsters sequence, then Addams Family sequence, then the same lightning sequence again. Was you looking for lightning sound through out the music?
David Barnett
No Sorry Tom. As mentioned in my original post; I was trying to find the easiest way to add my lightning were needed in my seq.In the munsters Addams example: I want too add my approx5-10 seconds of lightning at the beginning, then play the Munsters theme..going immediately going in Addams. That one won't be too difficult, I'll add the lightning were needed at the begin of Munsters, cut/paste the Munsters farther down the seq, and finally open..selct all..and paste the addams family at the end...shoould be OK.The more difficult song will be the TSO halloween combo, as I need to insert the lightning/effect in between the 2.So in this case, I'll have to cut out the Halloween, add li9ghtning to end of TSo and repaste the Halloween back in to jibe with Audio.I was jsut wondering if I moved/copied all my lightning channels to a new track, if this would make things easier, since the lightning stuff isn't in the way of my other seq. effects. One way or another, I'll get her done; just trying to simplify some things. Got V3 running, so need to read on the Help file some.Hope this clarifies somewhat. I do much better conveying things by talking to folks, rather than typing.Thank You again, for your interest in helping me with my issue.Best,David
Santas Helper
Okay David,I understand a little better now. Sorry for my misunderstanding.I'm guessing to insert the lightning in the audio where you want it and copy and past the adjustments to the timing of the sequences. I know that's probably not what you wanted to hear but maybe someone will see this post and guide a little light to a better method.I'm kinda curious myself now. Also, just curious, what TSO song are you using for Halloween? I have an idea but was just wondering.Thanks.
Santas Helper
I'm still thinking here. (ouch)If the sound of the lightning is added to the audio track thru Audicity program or something simular, then just add in the sequencing of the lightning to the music sequence (or copy and paste). That would work.Unless I'm still in the outfield playing with those damn dandylions (LOL ).....
David Barnett
Sigh....Hey Tom...well I think we are still off some...but that's Ok. :-)Right now in my main channel config, i did some rearranging of my Halloween layout from last year. I moved some items and or contoller/channels to physically diff. loacations in the yard.So have have for instance my Left lightning Flood #1 Controller 03 Ch.11; then Left Lightning Flood #2 03/12, finally my Left Strobe 03/13. I have my mid yard floods/strobes on Controller 3 as well.So I was thinking, if it would be easier; to just create a 2nd track; copy all my lightning stuff to that track; then just use my copy/paste in the seq. on track 2 were lightning is needed in the audio/seq.But, I know there are some gotchas to doing this; so I was inquiring if others had any other ideas to help. So, hope this helps clarify somemore. Thanks again for your time. reading the V3 Help file, re channels and tracks as we speak.Best,David
