callycoon
Hello all,I am a newbie working on my first sequence and am trying to do the haunted mansion intro "Twas the nightmare before christmas" After about 2 hours, I was about 40 sec into it and was very pleased with the way it was turning out. I was sequencing by isolating about 3 sec. of the song and looping it until I was happy with the results. The problem arose shortly after that. As I said I was about 40 sec. into the song and decided to play what I had thus far in its entirety and noticed that all my narration was now out of sync with the mouth movement of my pumpkin. The only thing i did before playing the sequence was clicking the zoom out on timing button in the toolbar so that I could see the sequence better. Any ideas what may have happened and how I can avoid it again. I really hate starting things over. I noticed that often when I isolate certain selections I notice syncing issues that aren't there when playing the sequence in its entirety, any thoughts on these issues. I would really appreciate the opinions of some experienced users. Thanks in advanceI am using a CTB16PC model, with the software S2 2.9.4 editionthe template I am using is holidaycoro's 46" singing pumpkin
Don
Sounds as if your MP3 file is not a CBR (Constant Bit Rate).See the PDF below for information on how to run the audio through Audacity.http://www.lightorama.com/PDF/Audacity_Lame_128Kbps.pdf

Guest guest
Another thing I'll ask you, Are you using Tracks per chance? I have had this happen to me several times when I would try to sync a vocal tract to a blowmold character or wire frame (don't have any with animated mouths yet). What happens is the tracks actually do not stay in synch with each other and you'll find that you just turned on the areas to be synched up either too far over or before the actual vocal starts. When I have done this, that is, if you're using tracks to sequence, I just CUT(not copy!) the area I just did, locate the actual starting point IN the track where the singing animated character is located and paste it in, re-run the sequence and see how it looks. I usually get it spot on when I cut and paste what I just did. That's one of the pitfalls of using tracks, if you stop the song, move down and insert anything, many times, because of this NON-Synchronization, you will add something in the incorrect area of the sequence. I SURE HOPE THEY FIXED THIS ISSUE IN S3!Again, this is only if you're using tracks, however, even if you're not, sometimes in a non track set up this can still happen, just do a cut and paste of the sequence area to where it needs to start, re-run and try again. It's not always a VBR MP3 that causes this, as I've had these same issues with 2.9.4 and CBR MP3 files as well in both tracks and NON tracked sequences.
