Denis Chaput
Just received my EDM radio Tx. would like to keep it near my show computer downstairs.1) What do you recommend for an outside antenna if one is required?2) What type of coax cable(RG-59) required to run between antenna and Tx. approximately 45 feet away if antenna is required
KenL_MCSE
You will probably get lots of responses. I use standard rg6u cable connected to a J-Pole that I made with a blaun made from the cable. There are lots of us that have home-made J-poles. I also tested a 1/4 antenna. It work - the J-Pole is much stronger. Good Luck!

Surfing4Dough
I would be greatly surprised if you needed anything additional from the included wire antenna, regardless of location of the transmitter (unless needing to transmit through lots of brick/metal walls). I would test that first, and see what you find. When I tested it from my basement, it seemed to work just fine, but YMMV.

George Simmons
I use a Ramsey Tru-Match J-pole. The sound quality is amazing.http://www.hobbytron.com/Tru-Match-FM-Broadcast-Antenna-Kit.html

But alas, I'm a river valley dweller surrounded by bluffs, and not including straight up into the air, I can pretty much tell you exactly how far my signal carries, so range really isn't an issue. I'm in it for sound quality from wherever viewers can see the display, and other than commercial broadcast quality, I can't imagine finding anything finer than my EDM coupled to a J-pole. I've tried it with the supplied antenna wire and I can definitely tell the difference.
