Fade down to 50%

How do I fade a channel from 100% down to 50%?

As with most software, there are dozens of different ways to do the same thing. Some of these alternative methods may save you time in some situations:

1. Do a default (100%-0%) fade, then select the 2nd half of the fade and set it to 50% intensity (by pressing the 'i' key); or
   
2. Turn the channel on (by pressing the 'n' key), then move to the right and set the intensity to 50% (by pressing the 'i' key), then move between the On and 50% and do a "Fill" (by pressing the 'f' key).
