I plan Putting lights on everything that is movable the start of November. And put the lights on the house mid November, depending on weather. The weekend before thanksgiving put everything out.
I got to do it this way because friday before thanksgiving is the last day of our lawn service for the year.
I want to do the testing Monday-thursday. And Friday at 6pm the how begins.

Well being in the mid-west and with new shingles. I am starting to attach a permanent mounted thing McBob that the things on the C9 light strings are attached to. Hope to have the ridgeline done within a week and the lights will be mounted then. Will wait till the 1st week of Nov to do the rest over a weeks time. Then Like a few others, will start doing dressed rehearsals to check out the look of things. Then go live Friday night after Thanks Giving. WX man says that we might have our first snow end of month. But then too, WX here in STL are more wrong than right. But I dont plan to be Kneeling in the snow or slush.

I hung all my lights for Halloween and Christmas on the house already. Will be putting up my arches maybe this weekend (CCRs will go on 1st week of Nov). Oct is fair game as far as Halloween stuff goes so I will try to sneak some Christmas stuff in (Mega scary tree!)
I have booked the 1st week of Nov off so I can work on the yard.
So little time so much to do!

Get everything up on the roof done on or around Halloween. Then I wait till Thanksgiving week to put all the rest up. (That's when I take my vacation time).

So, do you put multiple rows of icicle lights one over the other on your eves and cycle them to make it look like the roof is bouncing....you do you just wait for the earthquakes in your area do it for you like me in Fontana?

The low flying military jets shake the cars so much that you don't have to make the lights on the house bounce. Course, the jet noise drowns out the music playing over the radio too...

start stringing lights soon, those that can't really be seen, while it's still warm. Won't do much else till after Halloween. No lawn stuff due to leaves till mid Nov. Lights go on first Sat in Dec.

I'm on vacation next week. I have two flowerbeds that I'm working on enlarging, get my Halloween stuff out of the attic. I also need to hang my icicle lights because it'll be in the 70's and need to get them to relax.

I wouldn't mind seeing your new permanent mount mcbob thing that you are using. I am in the same boat. Probably with new roof soon, and needing to figure out how I am going to mount some light strips (made using pvc conduit) that line the edge of my roof.

You guys take your lights down every year???

Thats funny...when I lived in Minneapolis, a radio show used to go out and look for houses with their lights up, say in April, and make prank calls from various County agencies saying they have until the weekend to get them down before they are fined.

NOW, with that said, in MN, I would have started already, in Florida, right after Halloween I start, but of course putting things together before then, but nothing gets on the house until then.

With any luck, Thanks giving night it will start...okay, with alot of luck

6th year doing this thing we call a show.
Every year I have added 64 channels, this year
is no different. I normally take two weeks off work
after halloween, only one week this year. So I have
been hard at it reinventing the wheel of xmas installations. I am spending more time now to save time. Crazy. The show begins Black Friday and ends on 12/31. No exceptions! I generally Have one solid week of testing and if its all good I always do an hour or so show on thanksgiving night for special guest and Neighbors.
Then let it all begin!
