How do you copy to the clip board

I can't figure out how to copy part of my sequence to the clip board I created so I can use the same part of the sequence in another song.
Any help is welcomed.

I can't remember but press F1 while the sequencer is open and search clip board.

First, select the area that you want to copy. After doing that, you have a few options. Either:

  • Hit Ctrl-C, or
  • Go to the Edit menu and select "Copy" from it, or
  • Click on the Copy button on the toolbar (looks like this: standardtoolbarcopy.png)

Bob, that part I understand, but when I have it copied how do I paste it to the clip board. When I click on the clip board it won't let me paste.

Thanks

I'm sorry, I'm not sure that I understand the question. I have posted a video showing how to copy and paste here:

http://www.lightorama.com/bobpublic/CopyAndPaste.swf

In that video, I copy and paste via the toolbar icons, but you should be able to do so in other ways too (Ctrl-C / Ctrl-V, Edit menu, right click popup menu).

If the video doesn't answer the question, could you please try rephrasing? Thanks.

I think he wants to know how to paste it to make a clipboard called "tree" or whatever.

The video I just posted a moment ago doesn't show that exactly, but all you have to do for that is to right click on the clipboard you want to save, then click "Save" from the popup menu that will open. It will ask you what to call the clipboard; type "tree" (or whatever). It will then be saved, and automatically reloaded whenever you start the Sequence Editor.

Bob, thanks for the video. That helped me understand what I was doing wrong. I will store different parts of the arches and mega tree and will store 1 piece in each clip board and name it as such.

Thanks again
John
