RayDorman
Apologies for the beginner's question, but this is only my second year and first try at the input header. My desired effect is to have a PIR motion detector trigger an input, which will fire a timeline for a fogger pump relay. If I put the fogger timeline in the Interactive tab as a "Magic Toy," is this correct? This will simply fire the fogger in addition to whatever musical sequence is playing? Many thanks, as always,Ray
bob
That's correct.

testraub
While we are on the subject of interactive...Do I need to remove the interactive channel for other sequences? IE C3-01 Interactive...C2-02 & C3-02 Background (removed from sequences)?

This will simply fire the fogger in addition to whatever musical sequence is playing? It may not be that simple. I have been doing the same thing you want to do (run a fog machine in response to a motion trigger input). However, I initially ran into a problem that is documented in the help file:Any sequences already playing from the group will be stopped when the new set is started. My fog sequence pauses for 10 seconds (to let the visitor get close to the door), then turns on the fog. The problem is that if someone else passes by the motion sensor within that 10 seconds, then it starts the sequence over from the beginning, which pauses another 10 seconds before starting the fog. As long as people where moving about, the fog never started because the sequence kept getting started from the beginning.Having the fog start when the sequence first starts wasn't the best solution, because that could cause too much continuous fog when people where there. My solution is to have the sequence also open a relay that prevents the motion sensor from triggering it again until it has run its course. Ken Benedict
You could also add a long hardware delay: http://www.altronix.com/index.php?pid=2&model_num=6062And it can be setup with your 10 second front end delay.
RayDorman
Great idea, Ken... that's the same component used in our home alarm to prevent false alarms from calling base.
