Deck
I down loaded a couple of songs from Itunes, and converted them to mp3. When I add the song to sequencing editor and click on the view wave from I get an error, says it can't convert. Is there something I have done wrong? any one else seen this? Thanks
jimswinder
EDIT:Sorry...my response was incorrect...as you said you COULD add it to the sequence...But that has happened to me...I think what I did was to SAVE the sequence, close it down, reopen it and try inserting the MP3 again...Sometimes it seems the editor gets confused to what file you are actually wanting to use and saving it and trying it again seems to clear it up. Deck
Thanks for the quick reply, tried that, but no luck. This problem happens with all 3 songs I downloaded from Itunes, error message "Can't init conversion" not sure if I did something wrong or not, I have other songs and the wave works fine....thought there might be something else to do to the Itune download....... Mark West
The bit rate is too high. You'll have to run the songs through a convertor to lower the bit rate.
MikeH
Will it play without the waveform?MikeH
njwatkins1
The issue you are running into is the protected MP3 from iTunes. Try changing your settings to WAV and then export the MP3/AAC File as WAV and it will work fine. The long way around if you still want to use MP3, is to open the exported MP3 from iTunes in an "OLDER" MP3/Audio Editor (like Cool Edit Pro or Adobe Audition) and then save as something else. That should also work. If you still can't get it, send me the file and I'll fix it and send back to you.Nick
therealbigjim
Great info, I was having the same problem with a song I had just downloaded from Amazon. I used the audio program and re-saved the file as a lower bit rate file and I was able to get the wave form in S2 to work....

Deck
It was what Nick mentioned, I converted the mp3 to a wav file and now i can view the wave form. simple fix, but I was so far away... I ended up using cool edit pro.
