Denise Brunner
OK, need a little help. Trying to sequence my first video file, there are no wizards to help except the tapper. Does anyone know how to strip off the audio from the video file so I can make a MP3 file to sequence on and then cut and paste the sequence to the video file??? Mark Showalter
What sort of video file are you starting with? Do you want to finish with a video file or just be able to sequence to the audio portion of the video?
Paul Roberson
I use Cyberlink Power Director to 'extract' the audio from my video files. I then use this audio file to program with. Then when its show time I change the media file in the sequence editor back to the video file.A google search for "extracting audio from video" turns up lots of links. jimswinder
I have never tried it, but looks like you can use Audacity...if it is an MPEG video:http://www.wikihow.com/Extract-the-Audio-From-an-MPEG-Video-File-With-AudacityIf by chance the video is on YouTube, you can use this free software (mp3Rocket ) to get an MP3.http://www.mp3rocket.com/
jerrymac
I use AVS4YOU (avs4you.com), very short learning curve and good help file. works really well, removing and adding new audio is a snap, and cheap.

Denise Brunner
Right now the file is an AVI, but I probably can convert it. The AVS4YOU, which program is the one you use. The Power director, do you know if the deluxe version is good enough or do I need the more expensive version??

jimswinder
I just tried using Audacity on an AVI file and it extracted the audio. You will need to download a file to do it, but Audacity will direct you to it when you first try to do it..you will also have to reboot your computer.use the IMPORT and not the OPEN file... tboerjan
If you can get it to wmv format, all you need to do after that is copy the file and change the extension to wma.
