How much distance do you need?

"Most" responsibe transmitter owners adjust their transmitter to only cover the area where their viewers watch the display from.

It is considered "bad practice" (as well as possibly illegal)to use more power / distance then is necessary.

That is how I adjusted my EDM.

just a block is needed, I'm getting way past that now, just not sure what to adjust to dial it back a bit. i.e. whats the difference in the rf range switch?

1-10 mw and 10 - 100 mw. For one block, use the lower ( 1-10 mw ) position. This info is on page 6 of the EDM manual I have.

Don't mess with the MPX. Depending on whether you select the 1-10 or 10-100 switch ... the baby blue dial can be used to adjust the power with either range. I believe it comes preset to 10mw, which is the legal limit for retail sold Tx units. Its probably enough for most. If you want more range, set to 10-100 and you can dial it down as needed.

Final tip -- there is an EDM group on yahoo ... its a good resource and the EDM techies will respond if you have questions.
