I hope someone can help me: I always view the forums by clicking on the "recent" tab and then the little green arrows. Most of the time the green arrows take me to the most recent entry that I haven't read---like I think their designed to do. However, many times it will take me to the top of the thread, instead. Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks.

I do the same. Rarely find the same thing, but just assume that I have bad aim and I miss clicking the green arrow, which then instead causes a click on the text for the thread (thus taking it to the top of the thread).

I've been pretty careful to click right on the green arrow, but still have the same problem sometimes.

I have the same issue occasionally. I just chalk it up to an imperfect user using imperfect software running on imperfect hardware connected to an imperfect network. Stuff happens.

It is not you. In IE9, when I left click on the green arrow it takes me to the top of the forum. However, when I right click and choose open in new tab, it does open to the correct location.

Bottom line is somehow, somewhere and it is not you, the &first_new=1 is being dropped between the time you click and the time the page opens.

it would not surprise me if session variable that this site uses is trimming the get request.

Seems to me that they should fix it, rather than us having to use a work-around. But thanks for your help, everyone. I guess I'll just live with it for now.

A quick check of the forum settings shows that everything that might be related to this issue is configured as it should be.

That being the case it's not a simple fix, given that we don't know what is the cause of the issue is.

Tracking down the issue will take time. No idea on how long it will take to find the issue, much less a fix.

I have less understanding than that! But I haven't got used to it yet. It drives me nuts (short trip, I know).

I always attributed going to the first post in a thread due to the fact it was a thread I had not viewed in a while. Most threads that I frequent work properly when I left click on the green arrow.

I have a somewhat related issue besides the current one in discussion. When I left click on any link, at least 50% of the time it shows the page is loading but nothing happens and click the link a second time and the page comes right up. It sucks when posting, trying to avoid a double post.

Try taking a three week break from LOR and comming back to 100's of post. Whew!!

Been setting up a band stage for a friend..Wiring Tower speakers, Lighting truss and Projector for a 20ft x 20ft screen above the stage.

Thinking of incorporating LOR into the mix somehow..Just would have to sequence about 50 songs to play the band breaks !!!

I have actually been going outside !!! Instead of beeing a hermit to the forum :P
