pyromill Posted August 10, 2011 Share Posted August 10, 2011 I'm just curious here as I own a old CTB08 that is stuck with old firmware. How many own the old ones that would be willing to possibly pay for a daughter board to replace the pic chip with another one allowing more memory and or simply just to allow the newer features of other boards firmware updates? Something you could buy and pull the old one out,, plug the daughter board into the main board and be up up and away with new features. Figured I'd ask on here just to see if I was all alone or not in wanting to have updated firmware even at a cost for old controllers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
JBullard Posted August 10, 2011 Share Posted August 10, 2011 Contact LOR providing them with the firmware version on your present boards.Sometimes they have been known to send out pic chips with a later firmware version for little or no cost. I sure would love twinkle and shimmer fades on this old controller ... being it's my manger controller for the star and star streams!!! what's Christmas without Christ? It is actually a daughter card that plugs into the processor socket as there isn't a direct plugin chip available. Once this is ready the firmware will be upgradable and it will be the same as the current CTB08S card that does have firmware upgrade."looks like the future won't pass us CTB08 owners by too much ...
