Show Scheduler Issue

I am considering changing the way my shows play or are scheduled. Three years ago I had about a dozen sequences divided up into 4 slightly different shows with definite introduction/opening and closing sequences. Each show was about 15 minutes in length which seemed ideal for vehicle turn over. I scheduled a different show each night to start at 530 PM and repeat until lights out at 10. The next year I went nuts sequencing and expanded to 5 shows, each about 24 minutes in length. Bowing to public and spousal pressure I had to include some “favorite” sequences in every show. I am now up to 20 actual sequences, not counting the introduction/opening and closer and in order to give the sequences justice (equal playtime), I would have to expand to 6 shows, about 30 minutes each, or 7 shows about 23 minutes each. With so many sequences I am considering a shuffle play, but still want the introduction, which includes the standard “be kind to my neighbors” warning, to play every 20 minutes or so.

Ideally, I wish there was a way to have the evening show(s) start at 530 PM, and several smaller shows (say 12 – 15 minutes long) play one after another until lights out.

I know the exact length of each show, down to the 0:00.00 and considered scheduling the shows to start on an exact time. For example, Show #1 which is 15:05.23 in length start at 530 PM and run until 545:05.23 PM, with Show #2 starting at 545:06.00 PM, etc.

Hope I have explained this sufficiently. My brain hurts. Is there an easier way to do what I want to do?

You don't have to be this exact. You can schedule show #2 to start at 5:45:04. Assuming show #1 is playing the last sequence at that time, the show player will wait for that sequence to finish before starting show #2

Thanks Steven. So let me see if I got this straaight. As long as I schedule each subsequent show to start slightly before the preceeding show ends I should be ok. Right? I bet I will get an error on the Verifier though that I can ignore.

From within the scheduling software, you can't schedule an overlapping show, so there will be no error message. Specifically, you can't schedule a show to start at 5:59pm, and have another show ending at 6:00pm.

If a show was scheduled to end at 6:00pm, and a MUSICAL sequence is playing, that sequence will continue through to the end. If you have items in your shutdown tabs, those will run before the next show starts.

(If an animation sequence is playing, it will stop right then, and proceed to the next show. I'd presume the shutdown tab would play, but I can't remember.)

In your case, you could end show 1, and start show 2 at 5:45. The currently playing musical sequence would finish, and the next show would start.
