Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it will be the 17th of Dec. for the Lou. Signed up for the fan club membership. Looking to get them tickets first of Sept. On the floor once again. Maybe a bit further up by the stage. Last time we were on the floor by the back stage that rises. Could feel the heat off of those flash pots each time they fired the back ones. One hell of a show for sure!

I have the luck of living in Omaha, which is right across the river from Council Bluffs. That is where they start the tour off each year! Apparently the second group starts in PA.

I went last year, and although it was an awesome show, I don't think I will be able to go this year I'll still be at home waiting for the summer sale to start! ;)

Hmm no shows in Alabama this year.:) One show in Atlanta, but it's on a sunday night... So it looks like no TSO for me this year!

The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated...

  • 4 months later...

reviving this thread for those of us who have already been to the concert this year. Well our concert has come and gone. First for my wife and I was back in 2008. That time we were on the floor and back near the rear. Was a little hard to see the finer things on the stage. But we could see it all without missing any action on the left and right wing of the stage. Also when the guitar player and the gal with the fiddle came back and rode up the rear stage we where right beside them. This year we were 12 rows back from the stage. And this time they had the "Y" shaped overhead catwalk. And we where about right under the middle junction. So, we missed out on the action overhead. BTW behind and off to the side a chain came out of the girders at the top left end of the catwalk.

Well wont say to much more, but I will kill for the lights that they used. Esp the 4 screens on the back stage wall. And the curtain lights are one hell of a step up from what they had 3 yrs ago. And I have never seen a laser fan that is muti colored. When did they come up with this? Music was good, though I did not care for the old favs being rearranged. Dont screw with perfection.

Anyone else been to the concernt?

Yep, I went last weekend.

I was in the center floor area, second section back. It was perfect for hte "Y" shaped catwalk. It dropped down right in front of us. I was wondering about others sitting right under it and knew it wouldn't be a good view. Sorry to hear that. It seems, for me at least, on the floor in the center and about half way between the stage to the sound/effects boards booth is perfect viewing IMO. I've sat in that area the last 4 years after bouncing around seating other years prior trying to figure out what seats were best.

The multi colored fan lasers have been in their arsenal for 2 or 3 years now. They are awesome. I'm not much on the digital/movie screens but their LED lights and lasers are so powerful and wished I could afford them babies. I do love the curtain lights. Another effect I would love to have.

I go every year because they change the stage light rigging and have started the catwalk stuff the last year or two. I'll go every time they come to town.

I can't get enough!!!

I went to both shows this year the 4pm, had dinner and back to the 8pm show. I talked with John O. Reilly
the dummer this year and he gave me his drum sticks for the second year in a row. I see a tradition here every year now. I had them all sign my peorialights t-shirt along with Mannheim Steamroller. I really would love to have a display on my house like their show. That would drive the neighbors nuts. LOL.

How did you manage to get a chance to talk to the members of the band? And two years in a row.

The band gets together after each concert to sign autographs and such in an area where tables and chairs are set up for them. Pretty cool stuff. I met them last year and got a few autographed guitar pics, they all signed my tour book (or what ever you bring) and was able to visit shortly with each one .

They are just as happy to talk to us as we are to talk to them. I admire a band that does that.

P.S. Getting the drum sticks is pretty damn cool. :D

Last year I was in the front row. Drinking beer(not me) and getting really loud when no one was cheering a great part. So John came over and handed me his sticks. This year I found out meeting the band after the last show. So when he was signing my shirt I said thanks for the drum sticks last year. After chatting he said have another set sense you are a drummer. I said see you next year for another set. He said see you then.
