ogamoga
I was just wondering if I use a DC card to shimmer makeing it look like a strobe light(the lights are two rainbow wall runners on each channel and three sets so a total of 6) will the controller have any problems...like will it break. Also for Greg the seller of the lights...will the lights have any problems.ThanksBen
cenote
I have found, when you use the shimmer with these lights, they don't look to much like strobes. A better effect is to actually turn on and off using the sequencer cells, than just do a mass copy and paste for the timing you like. Don't know about causing undo stress on LED's. ogamoga
Ok well I can ask greg about the leds but what about the controller
james campbell
check out this thread ,then you may want to pm him and ask how he made the stars look like strobeshttp://forums.lightorama.com/forum82/26979.html
scubado
Led lights can handle high frequency flashing without any significant effects, even much faster than a strobe effect.
Surfing4Dough
This video shows a Rainbow Flood on shimmer at 0:28Any LEDs I have seen for a strobe effect look more like flashing, rather than strobing (ask anybody that bought LED strobes rather than Xenon strobes). All depends what you are wanting to accomplish though. (I suspect the star video that James posted above makes them look more like strobes on video than they do in real life--probably mostly camera distortion/focusing problem due to the bright flashing).I don't see any reason why a DC board couldn't handle this though since it is made to allow this function with the software.
