I figure I can use it for something else as the silver sharpie is basically permanent and dries much faster than these paint markers. JMO

James Shelby
I use the Ideal numbers with clear heat shrink tubing over them, with no problems.

Troy_Connor
You can get label makers now with outdoor label material. Check your local retailer or look online. You may even try quill.com they may also have them and it would be shipped directly to you. Good luck.
boborino
Here is what I use. It's red with seperate tape for each number 0-9. Holds great and is water proof. I got mine at Grainger, but it's pretty expensive there unless you have an account with them. Runs around $35 for the spool. You will run out of the number 1 first, but I've labled 8 boxes worth and all of my extention cords with it.http://www.amazon.com/3M-Automotive-MMM12174-ScotchCode-Dispenser/dp/B000LDDF8U
Rafter Bar R
I used small livestock tags (sheep tags) on the dongle ends, if these don't fad on an animal, than a light controller should be no problem.
