Guest wbottomley
My review of the Christmas Expo in Gatlinburg, Tn is quite modest. I can't speak for the classes that were taught but for the vendor area, it was great. Of course, seeing Dan & Mary once again was great but some of the others as well. The two that stick out the most for me was Paul Sessel of CDI and Gary & Valerie of Christmas-LED's. Great product and great people. Some of the others were extremely nice as well. With the buzz and excitement about S3, that's hidden some other great things that LOR has planned to release. For example, the signal/power injector, new 16D boards and new showtime units as well. The 16D version 7 boards are really nice. No more rotary dials, capable of expanding up to 32 channels with add-on daughter cards, an LED readout of current draw, dimming curve, and the cat 5 connectors are flipped upside down so they won't pull out of the board like the current ones. The new showtime units have been nicely reworked with a digital display inside the cover. The signal/power injector seems like a nice add. It works well in a noisy environment. And, the CCB's, they are looking like a hit. My impression of them is this, get your hands on a set. You won't be sorry.So... all in all. I saw a ton of new toys and new ways of decorating. The technology is advancing very fast, but the question remains, can we catch up with it.Last thing, after getting my copy of S3 yesterday, I loaded it onto my mini 9 pc, did a little programming, pressed play, and the power of it drove my car home. Auto pilot style baby!

Auto pilot style baby!Thank you for my email this morning. I was surprised to see that you had a car that was smart enough to send me the file while you were sleeping, knowing that you would somehow loose your copy in the next day or two. Auto pilot style baby!Your S3 interface to 4G connected to Dawn's iPhone5 (beta, of course) in her SUV and was able to load the Kayaks and romotely drive us to the drop-in, and we see on Google Maps that the SUV has relocated to the end of the trip and is waiting to pick us up in 4 hours. BTW, Dawn likes all those tacky lights S3 put all over her SUV.... We can't wait until dark to see them in action... :cool:JeffI guess you can call that a "SUV", Jeff. BrownOut
They were sort of in the middle of the room behind CDI and Paul. http://www.blisslights.com/They had the little laser dots all over in their tent moving around. They had one little sparkle trail that would fly around and flutter- It was made to look like Tinkerbell on your house. It would stop for a little while, then take off again. JMHOHe showed the lights in blue, they were very dim, and in red he said you could hardly see them.
BrownOut
They had another booth with motion laser dots too- they were indoor only I think. Seems like the red and green was $89 and the violet and red was $109. Maybe something like affordable lasers???

BrownOut
I enjoyed going to see the products. When I spoke to Dan he was worried about the price to make mounting clips for the CCBs. I think he should just sell them as a separate item for those who need it. If you are paying $200 for a set of lights, what is another $10. I like to save money, but I think he is too worried about the cost to have clips made. We will buy them.
