Guest guest
So I took the plunge and ordered the EDM FM xmtr yesterday.Show computer has the typical on-board sound chip/hardware, have not added a separate sound card.Curious if anyone sees a significant difference in sound quality from typical on-board to external card.I've got plenty of other places to spend a few bucks if I don't need to splurge for an external sound card.Obviously, have not gotten the EDM yet, but i do have one machine with an older SoundBlaster card, so can do some comparisons, but in advance of the transmitter showing up, wanted to get some feedback and see if I need to add a card to the shopping list. ainsworth
I have 1 computer with a sound blaster, 1 with the on board sound card from Dell, and 1 with RealTek HD digital sound. I also have an EDM xmtr.I really can't tell the difference between any of the sound cards. That's not to say you wouldn't be able to, but for my ears it makes no difference.A lot of it depends on how good the car stereo is and how the owner has it balanced.Only 1 mans opinion, and remember advice is worth what you pay for it....sometimes LMAO! MikeH
I also have used both, one Sound Blaster card and a RealTec onboard sound. I haven't noticed any difference.MikeH
