marsh28 Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I am doing my first Halloween show this fall and intend on using a combination of halogen and LED flood lights. I've already found the LED spots but was wondering if anyone had recommendations for Halogen spots. There is a company called "Buylighting.com" that sells 90W halogen colored spots for$6 each. This seems pretty cheap. Does anyone know if these lights will work. Here is a link.Incandescent Floods

james campbell Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I think I read somewhere in this forum that people have had trouble with halogen bulbs getting wet and exploding. I am going all led with my floods.
Cray Augsburg Posted June 9, 2011 Posted June 9, 2011 I have used halogens to some extent in my displays -- usually 45 watters for spotlighting. The only real problem I've had is that they are so darn fragile. When they are hot and you are trying to locate the beam in the right spot, if you bump them they often go "tink" and they're out for good. And, yes. "tink" is that actual sound effect produced when $5-$10 of halogen power quits forever. :X
