Writing a config tool this time

Trying to analyze the exported config files. Need examples of how people use tracks. Also looking for configs which have more than one network. The more complicated the better.
Any with Unit id of 80 or higher. Multiple tracks for same CCR anyone?

Here's mine lots of playing went on before this was saved so it's not "clean". There are 4 CCB/Rs on the eves and a few other elements. taking up an additional 2 controllers. I pan to but have not yet split the config into two networks CCB & the rest.

have at it.

BTW: what language are you using for your tools.

Thank you both. I hope you dont mind that I post what the program found.

Its very interesting to me that both of you went to the trouble to rename each of many labels of the CCD.

George your config has many extra unused channels. 71 with no device type or unit number. Your CCRs have 4 repeat RGB channels for each pixel. I have no idea if these are causing you any problem but I presume not. Last fall I had a similar irregular config which I sent to Bob and he fixed somehow. They were preventing me from importing an exported config.

The point of this program is to allow the user to change the network or unit for all channels of a device at once. Too much work to pull down each of 157. And adding a new device messes up my tracks. This will also fix the labels and provide a number of label options.

If LOR had an open casting call for a software engineer position, I think you would be a shoe-in with all your "auditions" you have posted here Bob!!!!

Thanks Jim for the vote of confidence. But not really trying to impress LOR. So sssshhh already! Just working around the fringe to make things easier. They are working on the real stuff while I want play and to do X and try to extend outside SE. This one in particular may not be released at all. There are so many things which could be inconsistent in the file which would get blamed on the tool if something messed up. My own config had two other kinds of errors which SE forgives but I dont know how to. I wanted to move all my CCRs to another network and did not want to click on 900 boxes. S3 may have this feature in it, we dont know.

I actually just opened the lms in a text editor and used search and replace to change the names. Lots of make a change then see what changed in the file to be sure I got it right :)
