Ok this has nothing to do with LOR I created a new folder on my desk top with some photos from scotland now I am done with then I want to delete the folder when I hit delete I get a pop up that says

Error deleting folder can not delete being used by another person or program

close any programs and try again

I don't know of any other person using this and I have no idea what program would have it opened does anyone have an answer.

The not so smart computer guy :P

Don,
Right click on the folder, click on properties and make sure it is not read only, if so, uncheck that.

Do a shutdown/restart and the folder should be deletable now.

Sometimes that doesn't always work if it's on the desktop (don't know why, stupid Windows).

But just in case that doesn't work, here is another way to do it, and is how I handle those desktop folders that I created, then find out that they wouldn't delete from the desktop later! Even after resetting the info on the folder and rebooting the system!

So just in case Paul's way didn't work, you can try it this way:

Open "Windows Explorer"

Minimize it so you can see it and the desktop

Left Click and hold on the folder to drag it to a Hard Drive (C: for example)

Release the folder once it has been moved to the Hard Drive

Click on the "+" symbol next to the Hard Drive where you placed the folder so you can see all the folders on the "C" drive in this example.

Right Click on the folder to bring up the info window

Delete the folder.
(you may still need to reset the folders properties once moved before you can delete it, although I haven't had to that as yet.)

Again, this is just another way to do it, only if the way Paul says doesn't happen to work. Sometimes it does work, sometimes I've had that way not work at all. So just passing on some extra information, just in case you have any issues trying to delete it.

There is always the old school way of using command.com in a dos line. Click the start button and select the run button and type command.com in the box. This will get you to a dos window where you can navigate to the folder you want to delete and then type in files you want to delete and then the folder. Old school and if you are not familiar with how this works have someone who does do it for you. You can delete files that should not be deleted if you are not careful using this process.

Don,
glad it worked and you are up and running!

Nothing worse than being down and not running, especially when there are sequences to create and stuff to do!
