Guest guest
Just a quick question will a 50w halogen bulb (spot) work with LOR?I know it uses a tungsten filament like a "normal" bulb. I did a search but did not find anything specific on the subject.
Guest guest
Yes they will work fine.I used a bunch of 100w and 50w Halogen Floods with LOR at Halloween Time. You see see them in the video below that I used for the lighting effect.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b45xqwn0DSs
Guest guest
Thank you Richard, thought they might, and that's a great Halloween display.Ray

I did a search but did not find anything specific on the subject. They work great... for spot lights they light faster then other "big watt bulbs, that being over 25 watts", they also hold up better to persistent blinking and flashing then other type of spot lights. If you lower your top power, I think someone said LOR had a way to slightly dim your maximum power per box... the lights will last even longer and put up with more abuse with persistent flashing. I run 100 watt bulbs in mine and sometimes these spot lights last 2 or 3 whole seasons with a 95 volt maximum current. This said, I am not sure about running heavy watt bulbs like a 100 watt halogen spot light with long duty cycles... if they are on long periods of time, "might" cause heat in triacs... not sure about triacs but my old relays used to get warmer with halogen 100 watts then with other types of circuits.
