mryan23 Posted May 23, 2011 Posted May 23, 2011 Im trying to build an enclosure for the PC model. What do I need for the ground wires? I can see from the enclosures that you can buy that the just attach to a nut and bolt but what does that go to?
Steven Posted May 24, 2011 Posted May 24, 2011 If your home-built enclosure has a metal case, then you need to ground that.If you use 3-pin sockets to connect the channels to your lights, then you need to ground the 3rd (ground) pin. You would typically tie the grounds together with a nut and bolt, but multiple wire nuts will work as well. You have neither of the above, then you don't have any place to connect the ground wire, so just use 2-wire power cables. That's what I did for some of my controllers.
Don Krasley Posted May 26, 2011 Posted May 26, 2011 You can buy a ground bar and mount that in your enclosure. Get one with enough holes for at least half the wires and double them in a hole. Hope this is useful for you!
