Guest guest
Yes, I have landed somewhat of a unique opportunity, I take a lot of photographs in nature and my wife and I had attended an "E.L.F. School" (Enchanted Living Forest) class this past Saturday on May 14, 2011, (we also co-hosted the luncheon for the class) and the folks that host these have now hired me as their "official photographer and videographer". These are a specialized type events (Enchanted Walkabouts, E.L.F. School). And they do these all over the US. There are many other folks they deal with that are also asking me to create videoes for them as well. So lots of photography and video work coming my way.So looks like I finally fell into a niche that I truly love and have a passion for, "Photography and Videography", and will be working full time on creating and making video productions from just taking some photo's and creating videos from these and other events. This is the actual video that landed me the request and offer of their official photographer:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNnexI65m4MIf you want to know more about the Enchanted Living Forest (E.L.F.) School or Enchanted Walkabouts, please visit John and Patricia Springers website at:http://www.enchantedwalkabouts.com

I'm just hoping I'm not going to get so swamped I won't be able to put up my display. And from the phone call I got this morning asking me about this opportunity and accepting, sounds like I am going to be extremely busy! (At least I sure hope so!)But am still going to do everything in my power to get my display up, even if I have cut back on the sequencing and the number of sequences I had planned for it. But on this one I have to take the photographs myself as these are going to be "candid shots" of the group as they are taking the Enchanted Walkabout in the park we may be hosting in at the time. This is NOT your normal see the birds, alligators, snakes, or turtles walk, these particular events actually focus on many of the things that we all believed in as children and have lost that vision as we transgressed into adults. These events are about learning of Faery Realms, Faery Castles, Gnome and Faery Homes, Gnomes, Pixies, Wood Nymphs, Sprites, Dragons, Merlins Eye, the Supernatural Realms and the like. These tours actually teach both children and adults to see things in nature that are right before us, but have been lost to us(adults) as we basically grew out of them. It sure opened my eyes and gave me an entire new way to view and photograph nature when visiting my favorite parks!Take one of these Walkabouts and you'll never look at a tree in the same way again either! If you go to John and Patricia's website(supplied in my first post) you can read and learn more of what this is all about. And if they are ever in your area, I strongly recommend taking one of their "Enchanted Walkabout" tours, it's a lot of fun and you'll learn (or relearn as an adult) new ways of looking at and photographing many things in nature that are right before us and easily missed or ignored! The walkabouts last about 2 hours, E.L.F. school runs 6 hours, and no they aren't free. But John does offer group rates. Again, see their website for all details.

Nope, a witch maybe, hippie never! That's the beauty of the position. I actually will work out of my home! So while I'm processing or waiting for something to finish on the computer I'll be using for the work, I can use the other system right next to it to check in, check e-mails and even sequence a little. Sometimes when generating one of those movie clips, depending on the complexity, takes anywhere from 20 minutes up to several hours. And I know some of these are going to be quite complex. So that means I still get time to check out and do other things while the other system processes everything and then there's the "edits" and such before committing the video to finalization before going to the end customer(s).Now if I have to set up my other computer to keep up, then it may get a little tricky. Good Luck and ENJOY!!!! :-)Most definitely! It was so nice to be able to call that one temp service that kept putting me off and giving me excuses as to why "my interview" never materialized the raspberry! May have burned that bridge, but it was one worth burning from all the BS they kept spouting my way about how they were calling the company right now (every time I called) and they would definitely get back with me one way or the other within a half-hour to an hour, I'd call back and get the same lame excuse from another idiot in that office! Was so refreshing to give them the ol' phffffffttttt! And I AM GOING TO LOVE this position, gets me outside, meeting folks from all over and now I'm getting paid to take photoraphs and turn them into video presentations. Something I've always wanted to do, but could never find the right folks to get into it without mega bucks for photography school just to prove I can take pictures! At least John loves the work I do and has me lined up for tons more from other resources he works with. He is also a landscaper and will probably also be creating presentations for his landscaping business as well. And my wife just got a call for a job interview for herself for Thursday evening. So if her interview goes well and she lands the job, maybe we can get back into a house in the very near future.

Not going to post what I'll be making, but let's just say probably be moving back into a house in the very near future, and will be able to buy better quality LED light strings and more LOR products when space allows. Apartment is just too small to be buying anything more at the moment, well, with the exception of a few CCR's perhaps.
