I just haven't had sleep for months now thinking about them!Thanks- LoganP.S. My wife said she is going to ship me to you if I don't shut up about the lights. I'm sure you don't want that.

BrownOut Posted April 1, 2011 Author Posted April 1, 2011 I know about the other thread, but I was just wondering if there was an update to Dan's comment "The CCB bulb will be molded to look like a C9 Christmas Light (molds are currently being produced and we will provide pictures as soon as possible)... "It will be fun to see the final appearance.I know there were not firm prices set either. Thanks for the link. :-)
LightORamaDan Posted April 1, 2011 Posted April 1, 2011 We will have more information in a week or two.Dan

rstately Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 Dan said...The Cosmic Color Flood will come with a controller/power supply in weather resistant enclosure. The flood heads will be in sealed aluminum enclosures with mounting brackets, sealed cables with sealed connectors run back to the controller. The controller is a 6 channel, constant current driver that can handle one or two heads. If you purchase the two head package, it will run about $149 per head, this includes cables, enclosures, flood heads, constant current driver, outdoor power supply. A single head package will be about $199Dan
Ron Amedee Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 OK any dented and scratched ones !!!I guess to have the BEST you pay the best !!!Is there an option for just the head end unit..could use the CCR controller and aux power supply?Never mind will bite the bullet and order just two to start....
Nurples Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Okay.... So.... I'm looking at this and asking myself a few questions. Maybe someone could explain more or maybe it's just one's preferences. Why a CCF? Why not just a standard DIY LED Rainbow Flood with a DC board?I got it that with a CCF you can have 3 different colors coming from the one light fixtuer, but being that they are only a few inches apart and all facing the same direction, once they hit the wall, they will semi-blend together anyways.Only reason I could see is that they would have their own controllers/PS and come in a very nice case. Thus sparing the need for a DC controller and power supply. But, looking at the prices...1 DC controller ~$100, Power Supply ~$40, 4 LED Rainbow Floods ~$100 (few bucks more for enclosures) Total: ~$240OR4 CCFs ~ $400So, looking at saving $150 seems like a deal to me. Maybe it's that the CCF's are X-times brighter than a LED Flood? I donno... maybe I'm totally missing something here. Not looking at prices, Why a CCF over an LED Rainbow Flood?
Ron Amedee Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I would think the CCF's would be run at the same color in the fixture..Just using 9 RGB's to obtain the brightness needed.

However, a new RF is going to be coming out this summer supposedly too (albeit at a higher price). One of my concerns with such bright floods is will it wash out the display too much? I use my current RFs for accent wall washing.
Paul Roberson Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 The sweet thing about "such bright floods" you can dim them down.Is they do wash out the rest of your display you can make them dimmer. If they were not bright enough it would take more fixtures/lights (more money) to make them bright enough.
rwertz Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Along with the brightness, there is the quality that can be expected from a Showtime product. Also the CCF runs off the LOR protocol. For those of us who prefer that protocol (and don't own an iDMX), this factors into the cost (and network complexity) of adding floods.
