Now that the sale is over, I'm looking for enclosures for my new cards. I've always got them from the "Broadband"store, but I guess there gone now. Anyone have a source for a cheap plastic enclosure.....................................Mike

I have a plan!!! Sign up for cable, cancel service, take box off house. Sign up again, new box, cancel, take box again! Repeat and do the same with phone service!

I purchased from these guys a few years ago when I bought about 12 or so. I believe they the maker of the LOR boxes but it was a pain in the ?@# to build the 90 degree brackets that LOR has. I also thought they shipped out of Canada??? Good luck on your venture ........

I use these:

http://www.solidsignal.com/pview.asp?mc=05&p=PVCB2GRY&d=Perfect-Vision-PVCB2GRY-Heavy-Duty-Enclosure-Boxes-%28PVCB2GRY%29&c=Cable%20Distribution&sku=

They do not have ports for cords but I drill them myself. I find a need to silicone some of the attachment holes but for the price they work great.

Mark.......do you know if the "PC" card with the large heat sinks will fit in these? Thats a good price if shipping isn't to much. Would love to see pics of your install if you have some...........Mike

Yes they do. I have hi-power heat sinks on all of my boards and they fit fine. You do need to drill your own cable holes. They are as wide as the LOR enclosures and about 2 inches shorter. They are about an inch deeper. I am able to run all my cables without any problems.

This site has good prices on great enclosures - demarc - waterproof, different sizes

By the way, I tried the $4.77 enclosure from Solid Signal. - they are not water proof, they have open holes in the back - you can seal with silicon, They are low quality and I cannot stress enough not water proof. I doubt that they would last long in the elements...

When I purchased the Primix a few years ago they were about $12 each. Plus getting them across the border because the shipped from our neighbors up north. But it was a pain in the #$% when it came time to build/purchase the accessories to complete the box. An example would be the mounting screws, the 90 degree plate for the strain reliefs, ect....

Hi, friskybri...

I use those... they work fine... I have 22 w/the high power heatsinks... you just need to determine how you want to mount the cards

KenL, just want to thank you for finding this site and sharing. I like this box, it has the "S" type of seal around the box. Much like the box I was buying from YBBS. This site also has the locking F type connector that I am using with the YBBS boxes. In short, this site has what I was looking for.
Thanks again for sharing.

friskybri and Dan,

Thats the box I am going to get for sure. And Dan, thanks for the review. I was a little concerned that the security stud would cause a problem with remain open space being less than what I would need to mount the board Horizontal. Thanks to you gentlemen I now know what I will be using for my new controllers. Dang hope this place does not go the way of YBBS.

Thanks again
