Control LOR software with a midi keyboard??

How would i go about controlling each channel with a midi keyboard.

is there any way i can assign one channel to one keystroke?

i have a standard 16 channel LOR controller with basic plus software. I've programmed a couple songs, but would like to create future shows Live.

i.e. music playing, me jamming on the keyboard, and lights flashing per movement that i create.

any help or links would be awesome, thanks everyone.

There's currently no direct support for this (I suggest sending an email to wishlist@lightorama.com about it), but you can do something at least vaguely similar indirectly:

You could use your keyboard to create a MIDI file on your computer. After the MIDI file is created, you could create a sequence based upon that MIDI file, and then use the MIDI Wizard on that sequence.

The MIDI Wizard can be used for (among other things) turning on channels based upon the notes played.

The latest help file pages on the MIDI Wizard can be found here:

And to be clear, in case you intend to do this for a pre-existing song, i.e. not for a MIDI file that you create:

You could copy and paste from the sequence based upon the MIDI file that you create into the sequence based upon the song that you're actually trying to sequence.

Ok so Ive created a midi file with everything sequenced, but once i import everything into LOR. the song and timings are way off. Not even close.

I cant seem to understand where the problem is occurring.

I'm creating a midi file that's in-sync with a particular song, yet once LOR picks up the midi file, everything is off sync.

am i doing something wrong?

Its almost like LOR is adding space between the key notes. Thus making them longer then usual.

Can you please send me (bob@lightorama.com) a copy of the MIDI file? Thanks.

figured it out, my recording software (ableton) wasn't keeping up to my key strokes it seems. I used Cubase and everything works now.

thank you for the awesome customer service!
