m3lyc Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 ...What connectors do I need to plug the lights into the AC inputs, and outputs (channels) on the LOR controllers? And will the 16 channel showtime starter package work in the UK? Sorry for asking such a noob question but if you don't ask, you don't learn! Many thanks in advance.Lee.
jimswinder Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 There are many LOR users in the UK...Per the manual, page 20:http://www.lightorama.com/PDF/CTB16PC_Man_Web.pdfYou would just have to switch to 240 volt, correct?Voltage Selection and Operation JumpersFor 120 VAC operation, both jumpers should beinstalled on the header that is to the lower right ofthe transformer. See following picture:For 240 VAC operation, only one jumper on thecenter two pins of this header must be installed.
m3lyc Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Yeah I know about the jumpers, that's not a problem. I'm asking what connectors I would need to plug into the AC inputs and channel outputs.
jimswinder Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 The power cords (male) and Channel Outputs (female) have ends like this (See attached)If you are asking what type of adapters you would need...couldn't tell you that.I would think it might be easier to order them without the cords and put on your own. m3lyc Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Ahhh that's what I was looking for, thanks. Right then let me see if I can find an adapter! Wish me luck, lol.

Wish me luck, lol.would these work?http://www.amazon.com/Travel-Power-Adapter-Plug-Converter/dp/B003WD11YQOr even just cut off the American plugs and put on UK plugs...Looks like they are both three wire...
m3lyc Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 For AC in, very possibly. Now to find the same kind of adapter for the channels out....

JBullard Posted February 2, 2011 Posted February 2, 2011 Before you place your order, send an email to LOR.If I'm not mistaken, they can ship your controller with the UK compatible wiring already installed. Ready to go on 240 volts and 50 Hz if needed. No need to try to convert USA connectors, when they will ship it correctly wired for your location.
m3lyc Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Thanks for that. I'm just enquiring for now and doing a bit of research actually. I won't be ordering for a while as I'm moneyless at the moment haha.Lee.
Alan C Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 It would be worth you downloading the software and having a play with that. There is more information on the software here: http://www.lightorama.com/ShowtimeSoftwareSuite.html. When you do get some controllers & lights, you will be ahead of the game if you already know your way round the software.Regards,Alan.
t.vanhouts Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 Hi Lee,Iam using lor controlers for 2 years now. I just love them. They works great. You can use them in the UK without any problems. You can get the AC plugs in the electric malls nearby your house.Still there's also a LOR partner around the UK. Look them up on the lightorama homepage under partner. Before you buy a controller you can download the demo of the software to play around with.Greatings,Tom(The Netherlands)
