RaceMedic Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 Quick Question .....I used SPT2 wire and the vampire plugs this year. I used a lot of them on custom length C9 socket strings around the windows etc. When I look at my display I see all these female plugs at the ends of the strings just hanging there. Seems like a waste of plugs. Is there an alternate way of ending the strings, the proper way !?Thank-you !Dave
papap Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 You should be able to just deadend them. You just have to seal both wire off so they can not ground together.
jimswinder Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 It may not be proper, but I did not put any female Vampire Plugs on my C9 Socket cords...just taped the ends up with electrical tape...I guess if you wanted to be "proper" you could "split" the SPT2 wire and put wire nuts on both wires...then tape them.
dstevens Posted January 6, 2011 Posted January 6, 2011 I dipped mine into liquid electrical tape to seal the ends.

I'm sure Chuck would remember if you emailed him.Jim - you can find liquid tape almost anywhere anything electrically-related is sold, including auto parts stores.
