Austen Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 This year I finally cleaned out all my lights that aren't working.I'm not sure how many strands I have, but I filled up a box.I have icicles, white strands (100ct mini), and 1 or 2 red strands (100ct mini). Some are working, some aren't, some only half work.I know some of you are interested in just cutting off the plugs. If no one wants them, they are going in the trash. How about $20 plus shipping? So around 40$?If you want a pic, let me know.Feel free to email me: ehurdag@hotmail.com-Austen

Lets see $40 at a dollar a box right now at walmart. All new and working. You might just want to put in trash. LOL. Be cheaper just for someone to buy at discount right now.

JBullard Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 William,I'm surprised! I thought for sure you would jump at this wonderful opportunity. Any guy with over 600 channels surely would like to have another box of non-working lights!

George Simmons Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Nothing personal Austen... I'm sure when you posted your offer you thought it was a good deal you were offering. It's just that some of us have been collecting boxes of lights like that probably before you were born. This is one of those learning experiences where you'll look back some day in the not-too-distant future and wonder: "what was I thinking"... The best use for your treasure is if you can find some charity where you can donate them for the copper. But thanks for thinking of us. Happy New Year!
Austen Posted December 30, 2010 Author Posted December 30, 2010 I completely understand.I didn't count how many I have, I just threw them in the box over the weeks I set up. I know the majority of icicles work, I just didn't use them because they don't twinkle like the others, and had no other places for them.$20 I guess is high. It makes sense you could get some cheaper right now.Shipping, that was an estimate. I shipped a way smaller box a month ago and it was very expensive. This box is larger, but not quite as heavy. So I wasn't sure.I guess I wasn't thinking clearly when I posted this.Anyway, if you want them just let me know. The price can always be negotiated.

I have a LOR controller that's not working with a big black hole in the center of it. It puts off a fragrance like smoke which is a plus. It's the same one as this (http://store.lightorama.com/caasaop.html). I'll take $150 obo.Sorry.... still having a little fun but enjoyed your post. Another quote of the year.

Besides that, I don't think anyone would buy non-working lights. hahaToo much work. Stripping the wire ends, soldering the connections, heat shrinking, current limitations of the 22 AWG wire, and because of the fuses limited to only 3 amps.5 seconds or less to snap a vampire plug on SPT wire, up to 8 - 10 amps of current.Throw them in the trash, in my opinion they are useless! But thank you for thinking of your fellow hobbist. If you wanted to ship them to someone for free, then maybe someone (not me) might want them.
Guest wbottomley Posted January 1, 2011 Posted January 1, 2011 Chuck collects old non-working lights. He's the owner of Planet Christmas.I don't know what he does with them but you could see.
