daytimer Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 My a/v program is moaning about a file that is being installed. ccrptmr6.dll It's saying it's spyware.Does the file belong, or did it slip in when it shouldn't have?I have searched the forums for the file name and didn't find anything.
cenote Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 did a google search on it, I was curious my self.http://www.auditmypc.com/process/ccrptmr6.aspWhich A/V program wants it? If it is a shareware version, a lot of them have programs like this hidden in them.
daytimer Posted December 24, 2010 Author Posted December 24, 2010 It is being installed with LOR. The anti virus program is AVG and it catches it as a "potentially unwanted application".The info I found online says it could be a valid file, or it could be malware. I just want to make sure it is supposed to be installed with LOR and not something that slipped in with it.
cmoore60 Posted December 24, 2010 Posted December 24, 2010 I cannot know for sure if it was installed with LOR. I did a search on my win7 system for the file. The search did fine the file. The properties show it as a copyrighted timer program extension. If this helps any at all.Chuck
bob Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 ccrptmr6.dll is used by LOR, and will be installed by the LOR installer if not already present. It has been used by every version of Light-O-Rama as far back as I can remember, and I think by every version of Light-O-Rama ever. It is a "high-performance timer object", created by CCRP (the Common Controls Replacement Project). You can find it here:http://ccrp.mvps.org/index.html?controls/ccrptimer6.htm
daytimer Posted December 28, 2010 Author Posted December 28, 2010 From what I was able to find online, that's kind of what I was thinking but just wanted to be sure. AVG antivirus flags it, but I am able to tell it that it's ok.
