PerryH
Does anyone Armor All their extension cords when you store them? I was thinking this might extend the life a bit. My only concern is if it would break down the covering. I know that when I spray painted a cord, it never dried and is still tacky. No telling what that is doing to the covering. Scott T
What?! Armor All?It would take me forever to clean and Armor All my extension cords. I do take the time to roll them up, but that's it. I have never had problems with the condition of my cords. Some main power cords are left out all year.IMO
DownTown
Hello Perry -I have done extensive testing with Armor All on rip-stop nylon, but now on extension cords. On the nylon, is definately made a significant difference in the life of the material. As for painting your cords, I've experimented with some paints for my data and power cords. I've found that paint made for plastics or paint for vinyl car interiors (dashboards, etc) works well on them. It dries quickly and lasts as long as you don't abuse it. You can get the dashboard paint at places like Advance Auto, and the generic plastic paints can be found at Lowes, Home Depot, etc. All come in spray cans.D.T.
