Vandals!

This is my 1st year with LOR and I'm upset now. I came home today and find my LOR box unplugged, and my outdoor speaker over sideways with 3 cuts in the line! I'm 16 and spent my own money on this, which annoys me a lot. Tonight I added two bright spotlights that will turn on when the show turns off.

Hate to hear it...some people just have know respect. I constantly worry about vandals. Hopefully the lights you added will deter further vandalism.

That's too bad. I too are concerned about vandals. I have installed temp motion spots over the yard areas and cameras. Not sure if i would be able to tell who it was, but it would tell me when. Chin up dude and carry on.

Are your neighbors ok with your display and your music playing at night? maybe someone was trying to send you a message. You would hope they would just come over and talk to you, but some people are just to childish, you hang in there at least they didn't take you equipment

Vandalism is not my problem I am dealing with the City regarding the snow plow operators. They purposely pushed extra snow onto my lawn to bury my mini trees. As far as vandals go we have over 3 feet of snow which virtually makes it impossible to get at any controllers, speakers, wiring or elements in my display

Tim, go talk to all of your neighbors and tell them what happened. It's probably someone real close that did it and some part of your show is irritating them . They won't know that you don't know who it is but I bet it won't happen again. Ask them to keep an eye out for your stuff.

Mike, I think the Grinch is driving the snowplow!

Thanks for all the responses, I talked to my neighbors, and they said they couldn't hear the music is their houses. So I don't know who it was. I got 4 impacted wisdom teeth out yesterday, so i was in bed allday, but I watched about 20 cars come by last night. It's cool that traffic is picking up!

Design sequences that floats your lights. (ei: slow fades up and down) Then leave them on all night. It may cost your parents a little more money in the electric bill, but it's a whole lot less than your time, lights or controller.

I leave my on until 7:00am.

Not her so much as her > 100 pair of shoes, >50 coats and jackets and all the other clothes she can possibly wear during the next 20 years.

She has suggested I build a closet in the garage for my stuff.

And yes, I came out of the closet years ago. She refuses to so go figure.

  • 2 weeks later...

I was hit the day after Christmas and they got away with my Grinch....

I have tried motion detectors to alert me but the wind makes them useless. Next year I am building am IT Beam across the front and sides of the house.

I have cameras and flood lights so just need ot go to the next level.

As I look out the window I suppose that's the only good thing about all the snow we have this year. With Thursday's rain turning the snow to slush at the ground level and then freezing solid, I'd say there's zero chance I'm going to lose anything on the ground until spring at the earliest - either from rabbits or humans.
