light strings

ok, starting to get somewhat familiar with LOr S2 software and this may definately be a new question....(going by a 100 string of bulbs) is there any way to make half the string light up or certain bulbs light up while other bulbs are off? while creating a sequence? i didn't see anything while snooping around the software but tehn again i'm new. maybe someone knows a trick or two!

Not on one string. Each channel operates the lights ,one to however many you have on that channel. So on one string on lights, they are either on ,off, fading or whatever.
