mini lights compared to LED's

quick question (general). i know your not supposed to go more than 3 sets of mini lights together. what's the (average) amount of LED's that you can put together on one strand? also how many LED lights can one channel support (say using a strand of 100 LED's)? thank you!

Might depend on the LEDs........

But assume a 100 ct string of LEDs uses 4.8 watts (.04 amps), then an 8 amp LOR channel could control a maximum of 200 strings depending on how the strings were fused and the wire size, and if the LEDs were connected on parallel or series.

Real world limitations were probably preculde this though.
