Adding time to end of sequence

I have added time to the end of a sequence using edit>change total time, but the sequence stops at the end of the mp3 file. I have some lights on that I want to dim after the mp3 stops. I tried to add time in Audacity with no luck either. I am stumped. I have searched the forum and only found that you can indeed add time to the end but there is no referance to this problem. Help?

For a musical sequence, you'll have to do both: Change the length of the actual song file in Audacity (or another audio editor), and change the length of the sequence in the Sequence Editor.

Thanks, Bob. I figured out how to add time in Audacity finally. Saved it, changed the audio file in the sequence editor, and boom, works great.
