funnyent
Hi I used the simple show editor and made my show. Now I have finished more sequences and want to add them to the show. Is there an easy way to do this? I have the Basic license. Thanks!Tim
dstevens
In the show editor, you just add them into the show. However, if your show is playing, it will restart from the beginning once you save the show file.I'm not sure if you can do this with the show builder (I don't use it). bob
Sorry, the Simple Show Builder doesn't support modifying shows, it only creates new ones. So, if you wanted to use the Simple Show Builder, you would have to recreate the show from scratch. You can, however, use the Show Editor to modify the show that the Simple Show Builder has already created. TJ Hvasta
Bob, it seems to me like the Show Editor doesnt grab the latest sequence.. what I mean is:I use the SSB to build the list and run the show.. while it's playing a sequence, I mod a different sequence (that is already in the play list) and save it, but the SSB doesnt play the modded sequence.. it plays the old version.. does SSB cache sequences? bob
The SSB and the Show Editor don't play sequences, they just build a list of sequence file names for the Show Player to look at.The Show Player will monitor that list for changes, but a change to a sequence in the list is not a change to the list, and it does not monitor the sequences themselves for changes, so it doesn't know that the sequence has been updated. TJ Hvasta
Right, I know they dont play the list but its interesting that SSB wont play a modded sequence thats already in the list which makes me believe it does cache a sequence in the list, it's file length or Saved timestamp. bob
I think I am not understanding the question. You say that you know that the SSB doesn't play sequences, but then go on to ask why it doesn't play certain sequences? The Show Player, which is what plays sequences, does not check sequence files to see if they have been changed (once it has loaded them). So if you're running a show, and you use the Sequence Editor to change a sequence in it, and the Show Player has already loaded that sequence, it will not pick up the change, until the next show. TJ Hvasta
Yes, right, it doesnt play anything, it tells Show Player (or really WMP) to play everything in the list. Yes, thats what I was saying, SSB doesnt play, but it caches sequences as they were, not as they currently are. It remembers file length, or timestamp.. (if it doesnt, then it would play updated sequences). So we have to end the show, then restart it to play the updated sequences, that were already in the list. bob
The SSB doesn't cache anything, and it doesn't know anything about the contents or size or timestamp of a sequence file (unless you ask it to download to an MP3 Director or such). All it does is put the filename in a list. The Show Player monitors that list. But since the filename didn't change, the list didn't change.
