scubado
Depends if you want a chase or twinkly when the controller turns them on. I have some on my gutter mixed with other lights set to twinkle as a cheap substitute for strobes.
testraub
I have one set of 5 stars with the controller. Doesn't fade as well as a few other sets of LED's I have, but I put to steady on and can fade them to about 30% before I run into any problems. Jim Saul
you could also set the onboard controller to leave them on solid, then use the LOR controller as though they were a normal set.

My understanding is that fading (and shimmer) is extremely detrimental to mini light controllers and LED transformers.
