joshsjams
I saw some one on here with pictures on their site of "How they did their lighting" and I don't remember who they were but they had 2x2x10 plastic channel or chase. I want to know where to get it or what it is.I am looking for a way to hang my lights from my gutters ( I know clips work but just a thought) and make it easier to remove at the end of the season and put up in the beggining of the season. My wife won't let me keep the lights up all year. she said something about White Trash??? I want to do July 4th lights and Halloween. so please please share your sequences.

Clicked on your link and looked at your great idea for using a plastic gutter and the ole light bulb went off in my head!!Was looking for some thin non-metallic material (with a 90 degree bend) to use to hook strobes to and insert under the shingles on my roof!!This should fit the bill just right!! kmb1967
Dave... That is a great idea. I have been looking for an easier way to put up multiple strands of lights across the front of my house without hanging myself up on the ladder! What are you using to attach these to the eaves of your house? I would like to find some way of permanently attaching something to the house then hanging these light channels from them for an easy install and quick takedown in January. Thanks for the help! Thanks for the help! There is nothing attaching the 14' to the horizontal eaves trough ... it just hooks on. All I added as a percaution, in case of strong winds, was a couple of zip ties wrapped around metal pieces ( I have no idea what they are called ) that go from the from of the eavestrough to the back part. I drilled a couple of holes in the track, one of each side of the metal piece. Does that make sense ?!Dave
kmb1967
The horizontal sections make sense since they are essentially resting on the gutter with some zip ties to hold them in place. I am more curious on how you get them to stay on the sloped sections of your roof and around the windows. I definitely may be using this method next year since it would be easy enough to attach my icicle lights to the bottom of the channel and lift the whole section into place as one piece instead of three separate strings that I did this year. RaceMedic
I am sorry .... misread what you meant. For the sloped sections I simply put a few metal plugs on the facing of my house. They will stay in all year. The long sections of eaves trough, because they are light weight are only held up by a few screws.Around the winds I drilled pilot holes in the plastic frame, assuring I was not near the sealed windows and put screws through the tracking. When they come out in the spring I will fill them with white silicone.Dave
