RyanSchulte
I just recently purchased a CTB16PC, Partially Assembled, and a USB485B. I assembled the controller and then installed the driver for the USB485B on my PC (Windows XP). I then ran the hardware utility to try to find the controller but no luck. I searched the forum and tried any possible solution I could find from swapping out the cat5e cable, usb cable, pc, reinstall driver. I also ran auto configure on the comm port and manual selected comm 3 which the converter was assigned by the computer. Finally after a few hours of tests a friend picked up the converter and tried to use it on his system in which he has multiple controllers hooked up to the same model converter. He was unable to get any response from my converter on his set up. Before I contacted LOR Support I wanted to see if anyone else has had any experience with a bad USB485B converter or if anyone had any other suggestions on how I could fix my issue. Thanks for any help in advance.
cmoore60
Ryan,I assume since you put your location as St. Louis, you are talking St. Louis, MO. Is that correct?Where bouts in the area? I live on the east side in Cahokia. There are several of us around the area.As far as the problem with the adapter. Did you install all the driver stuff. I believe you have to go thru the thing like 3 times as I recall to load all parts. The only problem I have had with my USB485B was having a bad RJ45 jack. Since I replaced that, I have had no problems.More than willing to assist in any way possible.Chuck
RyanSchulte
Yes I live in St. Louis, MO in the Holly Hills neighborhood in south city. I did install the driver that was on the CD multiple times and on multiple computers, each time I installed the driver it had me run it twice. I also downloaded a driver from the website just to make sure the one on the CD was not corrupted.
