Daren
I'm sure I'm missing something simple but I'm tired and not thinking straight. I unplugged my show laptop to do some more sequencing today and now nothing is working. I went to the utility and hit refresh and it can't find any units. What am I missing? Thanks,Daren

jeffl
Hit the auto configure button "upper left" corner of the hardware utility. Once that's happy then hit refresh. You should be good to go.
vipzach
Mine will act strange sometime if I unplug the controller while LOR is open.I have to reboot the computer with the usb cable unplugged, fire up LOR, make sure the controller is on, then plug in the cable. Daren
I tried all your suggestions and no joy. I've also checked for power at unit 1 and the light is blinking so no info is getting to it. I plugged in a spare controller and changed the ID so I know the adapter is working. I loaded the show onto another computer and had the same problem as the laptop. Unable to locate the Light-O-Rama port. Check that controller is connected and that it is powered on. Been there done that. Hope someone else has another suggestion. Thanks for the help so far.
boborino
Couple of things, make sure the sequence editor is not running while trying to run the hardware utility. You can't have both talking to the COMM port. When you plug in the controller cable, does the computer recognize a USB device is plugged in? Are you running this on an XP machine? If so, you can right click on My Computer, select Manage, then Device Manager. Expand the "Ports (COM & LPT)". Plug in the cable and see if a new COM port shows up. Unplug it and see if it goes away. If so, you know which COMM port the system is using. Use that com port in the hardware utility to see if it works. I have issues with my laptop on occasion because of another piece of software that takes over the COMM ports. Make sure you aren't running any other software like digital phone line monitoring or incoming fax software that might interfere.Your interface cable may have gone bad as well. Daren
Thanks for all the help. Once I had some sleep I realized I should start with the last thing I did, which was add a controller. I unplugged the cable and ran refresh in the utility and came up with 4 controllers. Turns out 1 bad cable (even at the end of the line) can take out the whole show. A quick trip to depot and 1 50 foot cable later and the show was up and running. Thanks again for all the suggestions. :]Daren
