Bruce Ingebretsen
I have one channel that is continuously on at about 50%. It is on whether I am running a show or not. If the controller has power, that channel is on. The only way to turn it off seems to be to unplug it.Any help would be appreciated.

txcanes
I have one channel that stays lit after the show is over, but it behaves fine during the shows? Same issue or different one?
toymakr000
I don't think it the same issue. Do you have this check box checked? If not that could have been the channel that was left on at the end of the sequence. If this is not the issue then how does it behave in the Hardware Utility? txcanes
Did you figure out how to fix a blow triac??
TJ Hvasta
Cant fix it, the triac would have to be replaced.. Contact Dan at LOR and they should get you fixed up with a new one.
toymakr000
Replacing a triac is really easy if you have soldering skills...and a new triac!i haven't had to replace any this year but I keep a few on hand just in case I have issues. Mouser has them for sale.
mbettez
I'm having the same issue with one channel staying on after the show. I'm blaming it on communication issues and will be switching the phone line going to that controller with cat5 tomorrow to see if this helps. Ponddude
Do the channels function correctly during the show? Meaning do they do their effects and than just stay on after the show? If they work during the show it isn't a triac issue. It most likely is what was said below about the channels being left on after the show. Jim Lorenz
I just had two whole boards do this to me.Is there an issue with unplugging a board while the show is going (to add a Kill o Watt amp tester) then plugging it back in with the network cable still attached and feeding the show to the board? Or do you always have to disconnect the network cable.I can't find anything in the manuals that this will cause a problem..
cmoore60
I will say...NO there is not a problem with un-powering a board and re-powering with the network still connected. When I have situations where a GFI trips....the rest of the show plays, except what was on the GFI. Reset the GFI and as soon as the board initializes and gets a command the lights play as they should.Chuck

I have not noticed if it shimmers or twinkles when asked to. What would that tell me again?
txcanes
I am using LOR MP3, so not using Show director.
Jim Lorenz
I'm at 3 boards doing this now, and similar to Bruce, they stay on at around 50% whether the show is on or not and they do blink, dim, shimmer with the show but never go completely out. cmoore60
Jim,One other simple test. If you use the HWU and send an off command to those channels that are sticking on. Do they turn off? If they do not turn off. Then I would say you have a bad triac.Chuck
Max-Paul
Wow, 3 whole boards? All 16 channels? Thats a lot of triacs to be blown. What are you putting on the outputs of these boards? Are you using relays on the outputs? That is just mind blowing. I wonder if you have gotten some power line noise that is scrambling the PIC (aka brain). Please try a controller reset first. If this works, then I think you might need some kind of line conditioning.
Jim Lorenz
I tried resetting by putting the boards to 00 then setting them back the correct board number per the manual but they stay on. No channel has more than 2 amps on them and most have about .6 amps. Last 3 years no problem with my same power hook up (splitting the dryer 220vac outlet into 2 120vac 30amp).I have not tried doing a turn off with the LOR Hardware app.
