gsxrgirl7
I was wondering if anyone knows what might be going on with my show. I am still on version 2.3.8. I had my show all set up and the order of the songs I wanted. Everything is working fine and all the songs are playing in order great, for about almost a week, then tonight my show starts and the first song in the show keeps repeating over and over and won't go to the second song. I tried deleting and recreating the show and redoing the entire schedule, restarting the computer, nothing seems to correct the issue. Ideas or suggestions????? Now, out of 5 songs I can only get my show to play 1 over and over and over.I appreciate any suggestions. I have never had this happen before in the 4 years I have been working with LOR. rjnitto
Try running the verifier. This should tell you why the other songs are skipped. Maybe Show can't find the music files and skips them. Verifier has been a great help to me.Richard
cmoore60
If when the show is running you have the status window up. The lower section of the window will show you a log of what is going on with the show. When it repeats is the a slight delay? Before it repeats? I had an issue similar to this when I started up, of course mine was when I first started. The sequences in the show were not what was in the folder. Fixed that and all has been fine sense. Sometimes i mis-mapped media file will cause this as well.Have you moved any files around on your computer since you started? Either sequences or music files?Chuck
kissfan4
mine did the same thing, i set everything up, ran a test and everything worked. then the day after thanksgiving i enabled shows and sat back to watch and it just kept repeating one song. checked the log and i dont remember exactly what it said but somehow my audio files were no longer in the folder. copy and paste and i was back in buisness. check the log
bob
Unfortunately, version 2.3.8 doesn't have the status window log. The Verifier would still be a good thing to check, though. Also, the following bug was fixed in version 2.5.2:If some sort of error occurs while playing a sequence in the Musical section of a show, then in some cases the next sequence to be played would reset to the first sequence in the list. gsxrgirl7
Ok, Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. We have been playing around with it. The only way I seem to get it to play different songs is by putting it on random instead of In order. Then it will not get stuck on the first sequence and will play all songs I have in the show. But it will still get stuck on the first sequence if you put it back to "in order" again.I have been scared to update the version, last time I updated (of course) was a while ago but it messed all my timings up, so I had to go back and fix all the timings. But it said when I updated to that version that it shouldn't mess the timings up on my songs. If I update to the latest version, does it update all the bug fixes from all the versions between 2.3.8 and 2.9.4? Will this one do anything to my timings? Or do I have to update each version in between?I have noticed several bugs with this version..... I want to wait until after Christmas to update this version of course also. Suggestions?
bob
Ok, Thanks for the info. I appreciate it. We have been playing around with it. The only way I seem to get it to play different songs is by putting it on random instead of In order. Then it will not get stuck on the first sequence and will play all songs I have in the show. But it will still get stuck on the first sequence if you put it back to "in order" again. That sounds consistent with the bug I mentioned. If there were a problem playing some sequence, then every time that sequence was to start playing, it would jump back to the beginning of the list of sequences. But if you were using random mode, it wouldn't really be all that noticeable, because "the beginning of the list" gets shuffled.I have been scared to update the version, last time I updated (of course) was a while ago but it messed all my timings up, so I had to go back and fix all the timings. But it said when I updated to that version that it shouldn't mess the timings up on my songs. If I update to the latest version, does it update all the bug fixes from all the versions between 2.3.8 and 2.9.4? Will this one do anything to my timings? Or do I have to update each version in between? I don't know in what way it messed up your timings, or why it would have done so. But yes, any version that you install will include all features and bug fixes from intervening versions; there's no reason that you have to install them all one at a time. Just jump to installing the version that you want to actually use.
gsxrgirl7
Ok thanks for the info. I will try to update after christmas this year. What it did when I updated to 2.3.8 it added additional time at the beginning of all my sequences. It was different amounts of time for each one as well. It was a mess trying to correct that. In some cases an extra 3-5 tenths of a second were added which threw the entire timing of everthing off. It did it on all of my sequences, not just one. So just keep my fingers crossed it won't do it again. Thanks again for the info on the bug. It all makes sense. I will just keep it on random as long as that works until I update. Thanks again!
